Change playback speed

Click the gear icon → Playback speed. Watch lectures at 1.25x or 1.5x to save time, or slow down tutorials to 0.75x.

  • Loop sections by right-clicking the video and choosing Loop when practising language or music.
  • Check channel credibility; prefer educators with relevant expertise and clear sources.

Privacy and account settings

  • Make subscriptions and saved playlists private in YouTube settings.
  • Review and auto-delete watch and search history in your Google Account's YouTube History settings.
  • Use Restricted Mode on shared or family devices.
  • Be cautious about links in comments and descriptions, a common place for scams.

YouTube scams to avoid
